Today my mother received a phone call from one of her fellow entrepreneur. 3 of the ladies planned to travel to Bandarban that night for a fair. She  asked if Mom wants to tag along as well. I heard my mother tell her that's impossible, it's not enough time etc. etc Then I here her say, "Let me talk to my daughter."
Her daughter being me, egged her on to go for the trip. Well she needed more consultation and validation for her wish so she called her brother, thank god it's one of my uncles who is pretty cool. He also said to go ahead and have fun. Then she called her son, who fell from the sky hearing this but thankfully also egged her on. And off she went.
It's a very mundane story to most people. If I heard it I would think the same. But I have walked along side my mother on her life path or witnessed her walk most my life. From a woman being dominated by her husband a big part of her life to the woman who just packed her bags and left for a trip was a hard one but a freeing one.
Fighting for her own financial freedom, finding her own voice and growing into a strong woman was not just for her but for me as well. My mother is the a big part of reason I am the woman I am today.

Rantings of an entrepreneur on a bad day

Today was one of those days where I wanted to give up! Give up trying to make a living, give up the business and just give up going through the motions of life! Trying to be an entrepreneur doesn't seem to be an easy thing.
I woke up to find my shopper and delivery man has decided to extend his holiday for the whole week. My trusty delivery service has picked after holiday opening day to be late and the clock is ticking for us to send out deliveries!
I ran out to buy the necessary produce, all the while I wanted kill myself for my crazy habit of procrastinating! And the worst thing about running a business from home is giving access to strangers to your home! I really hate that! Home has always been my sanctuary only shared with the most trusted ones.
Hiring right now is so much tougher because there are so many criteria to be met. I am not hiring a personnel but also giving them access to my sanctuary!
Through all these the only thing that got me going were my people!
But as things were going wrong of course the delivery were screwed up as well to the point where I called up the awesome owner of the company.
Everything wrapped up by noon and I could chill but by that time my hands were shaking and my head was splitting into a thousand pieces.
I am not a morning person. no matter what I tried, my mother's coaxing and screaming never made me into one. But trying to run a business means my busiest hours are from 8 am to noon. And I hate it from the bottom of my heart.
So here ends the rantings and stress and I got to do what I love doing the most! Planning Menu! Jar is doing wonderful but Jar somehow got pushed into the healthy food corner by the consumers and the wiggle room is pretty low! Hence, the idea of Bento Box came into existence.
Bento Box will be a weekly meal subscription plan for customers to take away the stress of planning and cooking meals on week days.
Planning the menu so far has been fun with different drafts and the menu evolving in different categories. Because people have diverse taste and wants. Diet menu separates people into vegetarians and non vegetarians. Then come the people like me who loves carb and people who want a lighter option. The evolution of the menu itself is so enthralling and interesting an that what makes me do what i do.
